The Sheriff’s Office Road Patrol is the primary law enforcement agency for 24 townships and the villages of Hesperia, Cities of White Cloud, Fremont, Newaygo and Grant. The total area policed are comprised of approximately 862 square miles. The County Road Patrol consist of 25 uniformed Deputies.  These deputies are supervised by 4 uniformed Patrol Sergeants.  These Deputies include two Court Officers and one secondary road patrol Deputy. The secondary road patrol Deputy is funded through the Office of Highway and Safety Planning, whose patrol activities are limited to accidents and traffic-related enforcement.  The Sheriff’s Office has three Detective/Sergeant in the Detective Bureau and one Deputy Detective assigned to the Central Michigan Enforcement Team.
Our goal is to continue to provide excellent service and guarantee the safety of the citizens of Newaygo County. We are consistently exploring ways of offering excellent service, while maintaining a cost effective public safety agency.
