Newaygo County 911 Central Dispatch

The Newaygo County 911 Dispatch Center is staffed by dedicated professionals who are highly trained to assist the community 24 hours a day. As a communications link between the citizens, visitors, and public safety responders, each call is handled with empathy and respect, and is disseminated to the proper service agency to ensure a response as quickly as possible. Through teamwork and exploring changing technologies, the staff continues to grow as a unit to provide courteous and efficient service to protect life, property, and the environment.

Newaygo County 911 Central Dispatch is comprised of a Director, 2 Rotation Supervisor/Dispatchers, and 10 full-time Dispatchers. We dispatch for 9 law enforcement agencies, 11 fire/rescue departments, and 2 EMS agencies. Newaygo County is about 862 square miles, has 24 townships, 5 city/villages, and a population of approximately 50,000 residents. In 2023, our dispatchers handled almost 68,000 phone calls and completed almost 77,000 CAD (Computer Aided Dispatch) CFS (Calls for Service).
