The Newaygo County 911 Dispatch Center is a critical lifeline to the community, staffed by an exceptional team of dedicated professionals who are available 24/7 to provide expert assistance. As the vital communications bridge between residents, visitors, and public safety agencies, each call is treated with the utmost empathy and respect. Every call is promptly directed to the appropriate service agency to ensure the fastest response possible. Through collaboration and an ongoing commitment to adapting to new technologies, the team continually evolves to deliver efficient, compassionate, and effective service—protecting lives, property, and the environment.
The Newaygo County 911 Central Dispatch is led by a Director, supported by 2 Rotation Supervisor/Dispatchers, and 10 full-time Dispatchers. The team manages communications for 9 law enforcement agencies, 11 fire and rescue departments, and 2 EMS agencies. Covering approximately 862 square miles, 24 townships, 5 cities/villages, and serving a population of around 50,000 residents, the Dispatch Center plays a pivotal role in ensuring public safety. In 2024 alone, our dispatchers responded to over 67,000 phone calls and processed nearly 58,000 Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) Calls for Service (CFS).
