How This Service Works:

After enrollment into the program, when the Newaygo County Register of Deeds office records documents under the name(s) you have provided, an email alert notification will be sent to the email address you provided.

To sign up for the Property Fraud Alert Service, simply provide your name and e-mail address.  Once your information has been added to the alert system, you should receive an e-mail confirming your signup.

Things to Know:

Alerts are sent based upon name matches. If multiple people share the same name,                    EXAMPLES: John Smith or Carol Jones, for all with that name enrolled in the fraud alert program will receive notifications whenever ANY document is recorded containing that name.

Property Fraud Alert Service

Name

Persons with common names are more likely to receive “false alarms” than individuals with uncommon names. If you have been known by more than one name, or change your name in the future, you will want to consider signing up for each of those names.

This service is intended as an informational aid ONLY and should not be considered a substitute for manually reviewing your records. Errors and omissions may occur, and it is advisable to periodically review your property records even if you have received no alert e-mails.

To change your settings or unsubscribe, please contact the Register of Deeds.
